In short: this site uses no cookies, does not ask for your name or contact details, and does not sell or share personal information. It counts visits anonymously so we can see which pages are useful.
Who is responsible
Better Leasehold is responsible for the information described on this page. You can reach us through the contact page.
What we collect
Visitor statistics
We use Umami to count visits. It records which pages are viewed, how far down a page visitors scroll, the referring website, and general details such as browser, device type and country.
Umami does not use cookies and does not store your IP address. It cannot identify you or follow you across other websites.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically keeps short-term logs of requests to the site, including IP addresses. These are used to keep the site secure and working, and are deleted after a limited period.
The eligibility checker
Your answers to the eligibility checker stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or stored. If visitor statistics are enabled, we may count that the checker was used, but never your answers alongside who you are.
If you contact us
If you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and to deal with your enquiry. We keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.
Why we use it
We rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure website and understanding which guidance is useful, in a way that has minimal impact on your privacy. Where you contact us, we use your details to respond to you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share personal information. Our hosting provider and Umami process data on our behalf, only to provide their services.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
- correct information that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how we use it
To make a request, use the contact page. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
We will update this page if what we collect changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
